Ethiopian 'Addisu Kidane'

Ethiopian 'Addisu Kidane'

from 18.00

This is the fifth year that we have purchased from the Worka cooperative and we've always been very happy with their coffee, as have our customers. What's exciting about the past couple of years, though, is that we've been able to find great lots from single producers - this year the lot is produced by a gentleman named Addisu Kidane. Rather than purchasing a mixed lot of coffee from a large group of producers, buying coffee from a single producer allows us to choose the particular flavor profile that we enjoy most. We are always trying to get closer to the source of the coffee itself to single out which co-ops, producers, blocks on the farm, and varieties are most impressive and this coffee is a great demonstration of why that matters.

This fall, we submitted this coffee (and Ethiopian 'Shilcho') to the Good Food Awards and both have been selected as winners. This means that two of our coffees are among the top 17 coffees in the nation, and in the top three of the Northwest Region. The Good Food Awards celebrate sustainably & responsibly produced, exceptional food and beverages made in the US.
