Moccamaster KBT Brewer
Moccamaster KBT Brewer
This beautiful machine is one of only four brewers certified by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
Handcrafted in the Netherlands by a family owned company, the Moccamaster is a machine of beauty and precision. Utilizing a copper heating element bath allows for a consistent temperature range (196-205F) to keep the water temperature right where you want it, producing ideal extraction and titillating your taste buds. The precise engineering allows the water to move up the glass tube and flow over the brew basket to evenly distribute the water over the bed of coffee grounds, which paired with the cone shaped brew basket optimizes saturation and extraction, and you barely have to lift a finger. With the manual options you can control the speed or stop the brew to customize to your batch size and restrict water flow to open the dwell time for the coffee as well.
Brewing great coffee doesn’t have to be complicated and the folks at Moccamaster have designed this brewer to make it as easy, effective, and fast as possible. Add your water and your coffee, press a button, and voila! The brew cycle commences and automatically powers off when complete. The stainless steel thermal carafe will keep your coffee hot for hours without the negative effect on flavor a hot plate would produce. ‘Mokha Java’ {Classic Blend} is a crowd pleaser - with flavor notes of cherry cordial, clove, and red wine, it is perfectly balanced between rich and sweet. This coffee is delicious served black or with your favorite milk and sweetener.
The name ‘Mohka Java’ can be traced back more than 500 years to two of the first shipping ports where coffee was originally exported: the port of Mokha in Yemen, Arabia and the island of Java in Indonesia. Coffee cultivation started in Ethiopia; the indigenous and wild coffee plants were brought to Yemen, where it was first domesticated, systematically farmed, and turned into a global commercial enterprise. Coffee made its way to the Indonesian island of Java when Dutch colonialists smuggled Arabica seedlings from Yemen. Indonesia became the first place outside Arabia to successfully mass-produce coffee, making the island of Java so famous that "java" turned into a global nickname for the drink. Trade ships would load up with coffee from the two ports to supply the growing population of European coffee drinkers. Whether by accident or intentionally, the two beans were blended together and became the world’s first coffee blend.
Our ‘Mokha Java’ is a two-bean blend, designed to capture the historical flavor profile. The 'Mokha' component in our blend is a natural-process Ethiopian coffee that contributes notes of fruit and cocoa. The 'Java' component is a wet-hulled Indonesian coffee that has deeper notes of earth and spice. It’s a marriage between the brightness of Africa and the depth of Indonesia, resulting in a dynamic yet balanced coffee.

Sick of that papery taste left behind by subpar filters? The Bonmac #4 bamboo filters leave behind undetectable paper flavor because, you guessed it—they are made from bamboo! The wood fibers that make up most filters are weaker, leeching fine woody particles into your brew. The bamboo is a much stronger fiber, giving you a cleaner cup. In addition to improving the taste of your coffee, you can feel good about improving the world with this more sustainable, tree-saving choice. These filters will work for any coffeemaker that uses a cone-shaped #4 filter.
